Winners

 

On Sunday September 26, 2010 Bowmanstown Rod & Gun club hosted their September Shoot. The day began quite sunny but turned overcast shortly after the warm up.  The conditions were very lethargic causing some shooters difficulties. There were 33 VFS shooters, 2 VH shooters, 1 H, 1 AR, 1 Factory and 1 Rim Fire shooter, totaling 39 shooters which required 3 relays.

Ricky Read turned in a fine performance with a 250-24 placing him First.  Paul Bilec and Don Zacharias (Zack) tied for second with 250-22’s, however Paul Creedmoored Zack to take second.  Zack finished third. VH was taken by Zack Reese 247-7, Hunter by Clayton Merrill 247-13, AR by Bill Geddes 234-2, Factory by Jim Roan 231-2 and Rim Fire by Scott Lamana 237-2.

There were 7 folks shooting 6PPC and Lamar Smith finished first in the class with a 250-19 Phyllis Shinglock (Mrs Shinny), shooting a 6PPC, took the warm up patch with a 50-5x. Shooters Ken Wood and Al Edwards drove down from NY State, while Fred Stortz, Blase Brunner and Tina Christensen drove over from NJ.

Much thanks to the target crew, range officers and scoring folks who faithfully come out to perform these tasks.  It is so easy to take these fine folks for granted, but I for one really appreciate them and all the effort they put forth... They are:  The Reese family (Terry, Ina, Zack, Joe, Bob & Tiffany), Denny Collins, Michelle Geddes (Pastorella) & Keith Billings.
