Bell City Rifle Club

Southington Connecticut

5 September. 2010

The Bell City Rifle club had its 3rd 200yd match of the year today, and, without question, the conditions were the most difficult we have faced. There was a new club formed during the match "The Black Ring Club". It seems that Earl's tail winds, though not as potent as the full gale force winds experienced by some coastal states, would push unsuspecting shooters out into the black rings without warning. .223, 6br, and 30br alike were susceptible to these gusts, and it was pure luck that it didn't happen more often. Of note is Joe Hecht's performance in the CU (Custom Class) with a 248-0x which bested all classes. Fortunately, the members of the Black Ring Club took their induction with grace and humor, and there were no rifles harmed in the shooting of this match.

Our final match at Bell City will be October 9th at 100yds. Following the match we will have an awards ceremony for the Bell City Score Shooter of the Year, and a bar-b-que (grilling to be more precise) that will be free to those who attended two or more matches and a $5 contribution from those attending their first match at Bell City.
Hope to see you all there.
Mike Suhie
