Bell City Rifle Club

Southington Connecticut

24 July. 2010

We had a very hot, humid, and nearly windless day at Bell City for our second match at 200yds. When the wind did show up it was less than 5mph and wouldn't hold steady for very long. The mirage was tricky at times and a lot of shooters found themselves dancing around the ten ring.
We had some returning shooters in the factory and semi-custom classes which is a great sign of growth for our sport and the matches at Bell City. In the VFS class Jim Greene had placed himself solidly in the lead through the first four matches, with yours truly trying to keep up, but a double crossfire in the 5th match took him out of contention. I hated to win that way, but I know that Jim will be back next month to show us flatlanders how it is done.
We all had a great time, and despite the 90 degree temps and 80% humidity smiles were seen all around.
Hope to see more of you next month.
Mike Suhie
