Bell City Rifle Club
100 Yard Match - Southington, CTSeptember 19, 2009
We had another great day of shooting at Bell City for our second and final match of the season. 22 guns made it to the line with Mark Ludinsky topping the Varmint for Score category with a 250-19x. Mark took home two of only 6 250 stickers handed out today as Bell City's winds and a bit of mirage added to a challenging day of shooting.
We had a good turnout for the factory and semi-custom classes as well with two new shooters who came out and give it a try. Both shooters held there own, and after the match we had a meeting about the future of matches at Bell City. There were those interested in group shoots next year, and obviously continued score shoots. I will be searching for either board approval for mobile concrete benches, or a new venue with them already installed in order to increase the draw for shooters to continue coming to matches. For now we will continue as we are and have fun doing it. I would like to thank the shooters who helped call the line, George Boyle and Joe Collin, and pull targets for the match Joe Hecht and Jeff Garlick. We couldn't have done it without their help, and it is much appreciated.
Hope to see everyone at the first shoot next season.
Thanks,
Mike Suhie
