39th Annual 100-200yd Score National Championship Match

The Score Nationals held in Webster City Iowa would in my opinion have to be classified as a smashing success ! 54 Six power shooters from all over the United States shot Tuesday and Wednesday for the six power National Championships in Hunter and Varmint Hunter classes respectively. Greg Sweezy from Washington State Led the field with a 496-19x for the Hunter Class win and Francis Becineul from Michigan took top honor in Varmint Hunter class with a 493-9x. At least two club members told this writer that the range was on it's best behavior for the event with both wind and mirage being less evident than on many previous occaisions but many in the field of contestants felt conditions were plenty rough to suit them and I can honestly say I personally found conditions totally baffling.
Thursday found 58 Varmint For Score guns on the line. Veteran Hunter class Shooter Gary Long shooting a borrowed rifle managed to come up with 250-21x and barely edged out by Creedmore Mike Rippey, and TK Nolan who also turned in scores of 250-21x. Friday at 200 was Jim Wooten from Georgia all the way as he was the last man standing at the end of the day with a 250 - 4x the only 250, this enabled him to win the Vfs Grand Aggregate. Greg Sweezy once again surfaced on top this time of the 2 Gun Aggregate.
